Mobile Vet Service Coming to SPI

Those of us with pets will be happy to welcome a new vet to the community - especially one who makes house calls! Got this from the most recent SPI Chamber Newsletter:

Dr. Missy’s Vet Mobile

Dr. Missy Denny Bruce

112 San Antonio Circle

Los Fresnos, TX 78566

956-755-9009

Professional veterinary care has never been so convenient! Dr. Missy Denny Bruce will be bringing a new concept in veterinary care to South Padre Island and surrounding areas, Dr. Missy’s Vet Mobile. The new 26 foot mobile unit will be equipped with digital radiography, state of the art blood work machines, and a complete surgical suite. Services will include, but not be limited to: Wellness exams and vaccinations, including yearly heartworm and intestinal parasite examinations, spays, neuters, de-clawing, general surgery, dentistry, and illness/injury exams including blood and urine analysis and x-rays. Dr. Missy’s Vet Mobile is now scheduling for appointments beginning May 14, 2008.

Update - got the following testimonial from Stephanie Wilson who told me I could post it with her blessing:

Back when we first got our dog Annie, she was having some major digestive problems. We had taken her over to the Brownsville Animal Hospital and Dr Denny saw her (diagnosis - acid reflux.) The next day Dr. Denny (now Bruce) actually called the house to see how she was doing - I was amazed - I had never had a vet (or Dr) actually seem to care.

At that time we also had our dog Schroeder who was very old (15). She was so kind and gentle and caring with both of them.

We were sooooo sorry when she married and moved, and delighted to hear that she had moved back.

I am really glad to hear that she is now a traveling vet - I won't have to figure out how to get the dogs to Brownsville during business hours.

Stephanie

Seems we are fortunate indeed to have Dr. Missy back!

I can't think of the number of times I needed a vet after hours or on a weekend when the PI facility was closed ... and then PI was sold off to another outfit I just don't know if I have that warm & fuzzy feel about.

So let us know any experiences, since that sounds like a great service.

I wonder if if Dr. Missy can do "Raybo shots?"

Please pardon the inside pun!

Hello , saw your vet clinic in your driveway today when I drove by your house...

I will be at ease this june to know that THIS exists...

Last yr I was very sick and housebound when my dogs were sick as well. I had to get the yard man to drive me to los fresnos clinic because it was close.

This is a GREAT asset to the shut in's , disabled and otherwise handicapped that find it hard to get around town by a certain time ( if at all )

Is it possible to list some of yuor standard office calls / proceedures on the website ??

thanks from Gingers' mom.

I know it has been some time since the original post, but I just wanted to brag about Dr. Missy a little bit:
My husband and I saw Dr. Missy’s Vet Mobile in Brownsville one Saturday. We called her right then and she was able to schedule us in for the next week. Dr. Missy and her assistant, John, came directly to our door. We have 5 cats and 1 puppy, so it much easier for her to come to us and take care of each animal in one stop. Dr. Missy is very personable and great with all of my pets. Her prices are very reasonable and her Vet Mobile is technologically advanced. She takes care of my mother’s dog and many friends’ pets as well. Since meeting Dr. Missy almost six months ago, I recommend her to anyone who needs a vet, and will continue to do so. I can’t say enough nice things about Dr. Missy’s Vet Mobile!
We love Dr. Missy!
Signed,
