What always bothered me about that event, Martooni Nacht, was that it was by invitation only - and really not a true community event. It's rather discriminatory, really, since some folks are deliberately NOT invited.
Then I have to wonder about having free martinis, nearly 40 percent alcohol, as opposed to options such as a nice wine or fancy beer. I guess the reason for being invitation-only is because about a third of the high-and-mighty get so plowed so fast they don't want anyone to know. And why, when I was there a few years ago, did I have to PAY for some junky brand of beer when those polluting martinis were free?
It's not a town event so I can't complain, and I enjoyed the sights and so-so sounds when I was there. If I had a recommendation, it would be to give the whole concept a makeover, though. -sam
