Last year I invested in a mail-order Christmas tree and it turned out so well I have already ordered one for this year.
It was a fraser fir, perfectly shaped and so fresh that it never dropped a single needle throughout the holidays -- and beyond. In fact, it was so lovely and fragrant that I kept it in my living room well into Feb., long after the ornaments had been removed and packed back into storage.
After that, the tree was relocated to the sandbox, where it slowly changed from green to a rich rusty red. By mid-summer the tree was finally starting to lose needles, so we packed it into the truck for a final trip up the road -- where it starred as the grand finale of a full moon beach bonfire party.

Hey Sandy. I have been wanting to try this because the trees you get at Wal-Mart and Home Depot do not last. Thanks for the tip. Did you get it with or without stand? Did you just have to cut the bottom off when it arrived or was it already in a stand with water?

Wow. You can disregard the question I had posted for you. The Green Earth Market CEO and President himself answered my email and said the stand it comes with does hold the water and you do not have to do anything but keep it filled. SWEET!
