Turtle Update

Over 100 cold-stunned sea turtles have been rescued and with temperatures dropping by the hour those numbers could rise dramatically over the next few days. STI needs a lot of help: towels and blankets, volunteers, boats for seeking out distressed turtles and cash donations. Please visit seaturtleinc.com or call 956-761-4511 if there is something you can do to help.

I just was at a meeting with Mary Ann Tous and she said these blogs are really really helping her (any everyone's) efforts with STI and UT Pan-Am. Thank you, Sandy Feet!

As an update, 20 made the trip up to Corpus from the Brownsville holding area where 60 were stored. Some more will make the trip tomorrow under intense federal guidelines, which means monitoring their temperature every hour.

Hopefully the weather will hold in the 50's so we don't get another big batch. Many of the ones they're finding lately are unconscious or dead, a shame. Seven have pneumonia and need meds. Of 112 from an earlier count, seven died.

And thanks to everyone who helped or even said a prayer. We really are blessed. It is NOT over yet, and we need your continued support just a little more ...
